Seems like I made some progress but am still getting the same error,
although this is the first time I have seen the preceeding 4 lines:

Oct  6 01:37:45 web5 jk_lsh[17394]: uid 1004 or gid 100 does not have a
name

for the amd64 edition you need to copy the libnss* libraries from the
/lib64 directory in the chroot, jk_inmit doesn't do this.

a typical error if all libnsss libraries are not yet available.
