I am pleased to announce the release of GNU Moe 0.8.

This is a stable release. The version number is 0.8 only because I want
to add a couple more features before jumping to 1.0.

GNU Moe is a powerful, 8-bit clean, text editor for ISO-8859 and ASCII
character encodings. It has a modeless, user-friendly interface, online
help, multiple windows, unlimited undo/redo capability, unlimited line
length, global search/replace (on all buffers at once), block
operations, automatic indentation, word wrapping, filename completion,
directory browser, duplicate removal from prompt histories, delimiter
matching, etc.

The homepage is at http://www.gnu.org/software/moe/moe.html.

The sources can be dowloaded from http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/moe/ or from
your favorite GNU mirror.

The md5sum is:
fa49282ae1d6418e01fd1b5a57b35fc1  moe-0.8.tar.bz2

This release is also GPG signed. You can download the signature by
appending ".sig" to the URL.

Changes in version 0.8:

* Rectangular block mode has been added.

* Encoding-decoding for Base64, Rot-13 and Rot-47 have been added.

* Decoding of Quoted-Printable text has been added.

* Decoding of UTF-8 text to ISO-8859-15 and ISO-8859-1 has been added.

* The new help key "C-h" has been added.

* The key "C-q s" that shows global status has been added.

* The modified status for each buffer in now shown in the buffers menu.

* "F2" no more saves a read-only file.

* "C-q F2" now shows the number of buffers saved.

* Changed "goto_matching_delimiter" keys to "A-f" and "A-g".

* "goto_matching_delimiter" seeks harder the starting delimiter.

* Status line now shows the end (not the beginning) of long filenames.

* A new search sequence "\W" has been added.

* The files "configure" and "Makefile.in" have been modified to be more
  GNU-standards compliant.
