A New Set of Baseball Cards for Every Jewish Major Leaguer

The American Jewish Historical Society, www.ajhs.org and Jewish Major
Leaguers, Inc. announce the creation of a commemorative baseball card set,
Jewish Major Leaguers: American Jews in America's Game. Each set will
contain 142 cards of every identifiable Jewish Major League baseball
players from the 19th century to the present.

Professionally printed for AJHS by the Fleer Trading Card Co., this limited
edition, gift boxed set provides information about the history of Jews in
baseball. For 42 of these Major Leaguers, this will be their first and
only publicly issued card. We are only printing a small quantity as a
fund-raiser and they will not be sold commercially. The cards are expected
to be printed in time for the World Series.

>From well known players like Sandy Koufax and Hank Greenberg to the lesser
known Moxie Manuel and Heinie Scheer, this set illustrates how many
American Jews have played America's game. In 1907, Manuel pitched 47
consecutive scoreless innings, including a doubleheader shutout. After
professional baseball he served as mayor of Pascola, Missouri and ran a
general store. Scheer and Moe Berg formed what many believe to be the only
documented Jewish double-play combination in the history of professional
baseball.

We continue to receive enthusiastic support from all facets of the sports
world and are especially grateful to Major League Baseball, the Players and
Alumni Associations and the individual players for making this unique card
set possible.

Sets, which will be delivered by the World Series, can only be ordered by
credit card on our secure website at http://www.ajhs-store.com/.
Phone orders will not be accepted at this time.
