I know in CVSNT Server (free/GPL, unix, mac, windows) that user defined
keywords can be set up that take their value from variables passed from
CVS or CVSNT clients (cvs -s VAR=VAL co module) so this would work.
The existing CVS and/or CVSNT client code could be modified to take a
variable from a file (eg: cvs -S VAR=FILE co module).
As always CVSNT specific questions are best answered on the CVSNT
newsgroup.
