Now I think I understand your problem better. :) We have no such problem
because we use rtag in only two ways:
- either to tag the tip of a branch (thus ignoring deleted files, and
adding new files as well)
- or to rename/delete an existing tag (no problem with deleted or added
files)
When you say you tag from a local sandbox, I suspect you checked out the
branch tip (probably HEAD, the tip of MAIN), and thus fall into the first
case above.
