can't remove a file

hello,

i am removing a file that i have checked out and it is
not owned by me. I am the only person using the CVS.

% cvs remove debug.log
cvs remove: file `debug.log' already scheduled for
removal

% cvs -q update
cvs update: conflict: removed `debug.log' was modified
by second party
C debug.log

now. how do i get rid of that file from cvs??
