Hi, which Perl modules are you referring to?

If it's the LibCVS Perl modules (VCS::LibCVS::*), they are
probably not what you want for this purpose.  They are for
developing CVS clients.  The only code in there that would help
you is for comparing the revision numbers.

Also, don't forget to consider branches when you decide what
constitutes "dropping down"  eg. how to handle 1.8 -> 1.5.2.22
