CVS mailing archives and downloads

I wanted to download the CVS mailing archives from:

http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/info-cvs/

If I try to do so using my brower (IE or Netscape),
even when I pick the individual smaller downloadable
versions my browser hangs on starting at the March
or April 2002 entries.

I've got a high-speed connection (DSL), so speed
isn't the issue.

Is there a g-zipped version, or an ftp site that I
could use instead?

I'm used to a downloaded text file that I can grep
through (like I have with the CCIUG archives). It's
kinda frustating to somebody on their learning curve
not to have this kind of fundeamental information
avaiable at their fingertips.
