My question was about IPv6 support in CVS. If anybody is working on it, or
if it is even included in some devel release. If not, it was just a hint
for those, who want to enhance CVS to be up to date with the next
generation internet technology ;-)
Details how to adapt existing apps to be ipv6-aware can be found eg. here:
http://www.kame.net/newsletter/19980604/
The web site contains a section:
2. use getaddrinfo() and getnameinfo() everywhere.
getaddrinfo() and getnameinfo() are new address independent variant
that hides every gory detail in name-to-address translation,
or vice versa.
So I guess that the next generation Internet technology contains the
notion of host names. The cvs command would use the hostname in
cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden/some/path/cvsroot co module
Does CVS have to be modified to use one of those two ipv6 functions?
