wrap/unwrap & gnutar

At first I was getting the following error when trying to checkout .wo, .nib
and .eomodeld files
/power/Developer/CVSRepository/CVSROOT/unwrap: gzip: not found
/power/Developer/CVSRepository/CVSROOT/unwrap: gnutar: not found
cvs checkout: protocol error: duplicate Mod-time
so I added the absolute path to gzip and gnutar in the unwrap file.  But
then I get /home/www/bin/gnutar: only read 404 bytes from archive
VewCommentsPage.wo.cvswrap
cvs update: protocol error: duplicate Mod-time
for each .wo, .nib and .eomodeld file and I still don't get my files checked
out.  Please, please help me someone!  This is driving me nuts.
