Not sure if this has been addressed yet... but, I'd say this you'll need to
change the CVSROOT variable as noted in the WinCVS docs --
":pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot". Next change the browser
location (admin->change browser location) to some path where no existing CVS
modules exit. Then login with the password "anoncvs".

This should do the trick. At this point you can create -> checkout module
and type in the interested CVS module. Currently you are not using the
pserver authentication protocol for anonymous access. I'd say that your
CVSROOT is missing the ":pserver:" part.

Good luck. Cheers, Tracy.

Subject: How to login to wincvs server

I've read the little 'CVS repository anonymous access' chapter about
how to get the current cvs source code of wincvs.

But, What ever I do, WinCVS tells me:

NEW CVSROOT: address@hidden:/cvsroot (password authentication)
cvs login
cvs login: can only use pserver method with `login' command
cvs [login aborted]: CVSROOT: :local:c:\cvsroot

*****CVS exited normally with code 1*****

So, what's wrong - please help me.
