I am not sure how exactly you want to plot them, but you can specify
vertex positions directly in the 'layout' argument, in a two-column
matrix for x and y coordinates. E.g.

plot(gg, layout=cbind(V(gg)$x, 0))

To read the labels, you'll probably need a very wide plot....
