Hello,

Translations of the manual I work on (Cinelerra manual) have begun.

We noticed it's not possible to make the pdf manual, when the texinfo
file contains accents. The accented characters do not appear in the
output (even if they do appear in the pdf output).
Here's what's written in the log:

Missing character: There is no é in font cmr10!
Missing character: There is no é in font cmr10!
Missing character: There is no é in font cmr10!

I'd like to use another font, which supports accents. Therefore, I
edited the texinfo.tex file, and replaced:
\def\fontprefix{cm}
by
\def\fontprefix{hvb}

However, that did not work.
Is there an easy way to change the font?

I was really surprised to discover texinfo doesn't support accents
unless you edit the texinfo.tex file. :-/

Nicolas.
