[Help-tar] retreiving previous directory ids using libtar..

Hi,

 

   I am using libtar for my application. my application allocates parent_id for each directory and this id applies to all files & directories under this directory.

 

  So i have to retreive my previous parent_id, if i enter again into old directory.

 

   Can anyone pls help me in resolving this issue...
