I'll guess that you have the wrong diff installed. Start perhaps
by doing a man diff on /usr/local/bin/diff to see if -L is a legal
option for it. As I recall, the Solaris diff is unacceptable - you
need the gnu diff.

HI All,

I have installed RCS 5.7 for Sun Sparc Solaris 8. When I do rcsdiff, the
got the following error:

# rcsdiff syd.conf
RCS file: RCS/syd.conf,v
retrieving revision 1.1
diff -r1.1 syd.conf
/usr/local/bin/diff: illegal option -- L
usage: diff [-bitw] [-c | -e | -f | -h | -n] file1 file2
       diff [-bitw] [-C number] file1 file2
       diff [-bitw] [-D string] file1 file2
       diff [-bitw] [-c | -e | -f | -h | -n] [-l] [-r] [-s] [-S name]
rcsdiff: syd.conf: diff failed

Could you please assist me in solving this problem.

Thanks in advance....
