Hello,

I am on Mountain Lion (10.8.3) and have gnuplot installed via homebrew

I have GNUTERM set to x11 (via bash and octaverc)

  OCTAVE> hist(rand(1,10000))

doesn't open any window.

In fact I have no idea what is going on. Nothing is printed back in the
octave REPL.

Ideas?

Thanks,

Your case works for me (I'm not using Homebrew, but I'm also on 10.8.3).

You might check if you can plot with GNUTERM=aqua .
