Novice asks: How to remove lines from a txt file? |

Hello!
I have a txt file with a lot of lines in it.
I need to remove the lines which have a certain combination of letters, say
"gum".
I know how to identyfy such lines, but how to remove the line altogether?
Any suggestions and hints are welcome.
