There are now two versions of octave on Macports, octave-devel and octave:
~$ port list octave-devel
octave-devel @3.4.3 math/octave-devel
~$ port list octave
octave @3.2.4 math/octave
I assume octave-devel will be updated to 3.6 if and when either version is
updated.
