Issues with Octave under Cygwin

I am using Octave under Cygwin, and I am having issues changing the output. I
am able to plot ouput to an X display though.

Running:
GNU Octave, version 3.2.4
Octave was configured for "i686-pc-cygwin".

Using the following command:

octave:1> set term postscript
error: invalid conversion from string to real N-d array

Which looks like I cannot access the "standard set command". I am able to
use the set command under gnuplot.

I assume that the set commands are not being passed onto gnuPlot or there is
some syntax required for the set command exclusive to running under Cygwin.

Does anyone have an idea as to what the specific syntax I should be using
is?
