Yes, I tried
> edit closepos
> edit closepos.m
and
> edit 'c:\full\path\to\closepos.m'
both works (provided, that in the first two examples closepos is available in
octave's search path)

Without a provided example demonstrating the problem this will be
pure speculation.
I can make one guess: Did you install the oct2mat package? If so, please unload
it via
> pkg rebuild -noauto oct2mat
and restart octave and try again.
