Even if gnuplot is not installed, the have_newer_gnuplot function
should be defined. In any case, if this is Debian unstable, why is it
not Octave 3.0.0, since that is what is currently in unstable? After
upgrading to 3.0.0, does the problem persist? It seems to work fine
for me with the Debian 3.0.0 package.
