Hi,
I am new to octave but had been using matlab for a while. Is there a way of
saving the figures as a fig file as in matlab so that it can be edited
later.
Octave (actually gnuplot) can save plots in fig format:
http://www.xfig.org/userman/fig-format.html
and you can edit the file in xfig http://www.xfig.org/
But that has nothing to do with Matlab and whatever it calls
the "fig" file.
