How to profile the execution time of Octave code ?

Dear All,

There are already profiling commands in Matlab, like "profile on profile 
viewer". Before I try and make any sort of program run faster I first need 
to find out which bits of it are running slowly. 
Is anybody know if there is also a profiling command which can show the 
functions run-times and calls under Octave? I use Octave 2.1.73 under 
Cgywin and I want to find some weak/slow spots in my codes.
