Quentin,
It is a long time since I tried a gcc-4.0 build and did not, in fact, get as
far as you have. One thing that hit right away was that gfortran failed to
do a clean job. Some of the fortran had to be modified to compile
correctly. I have been keeping an eye on the various bugs that I found and,
I am pleased to report, the last one was just fixed in cvs, aka 4.1; this
was associated with multiple entries. Subroutines were fixed a while back
and functions have just been done. The links to the libraries might have to
be modified because there were, at least, name clashes between libgcc(I seem
to recall) and libgfortran.
Anyway, if you are having to use 3.4 include files, then either a bug in 3.4
has been fixed or you are exposing a nasty in 4.0. If the latter, please
try to isolate the cause and issue a problem report to gcc bugzilla.
Best regards
Paul Thomas
