Paul,
This was the first thing that I tried.
n1^(2^-k) prod(T.^(2.^(-k:-1)))
Screwed it up by implementing it whilst tapping away on the portable, in
front of a movie with the family......
Unsurprisingly, it takes roughly the same time as the C++ function.
