Ploting using octave

Hi
I am new to use octave. I am facing problem while I am trying to use
any plot command.
This is what I am getting when I am using the 'plot' command
-------------
octave:1> plot ([1 2 3])
pine-gnuplot: not found
warning: broken pipe
warning: in /usr/local/share/octave/2.1.46/m/plot/plot.m near line 180,
