The problem as reported exist here on 2.1.44 RedHat 8.0 (gcc 3.2 20020903).
It also "sticky", i.e. once error occur it will occur every time
I run test script (within the same octave session).
Though if I do 'clear test' (to remove compiled function) it will work
again until the next error.
