Ok, first things first... take a deep breath, and turn off your

Now, if your homework is due tomorrow, forget it.  Its too late.

If not, then step 2...  fix yourself a nice cup of coffee or 
chocolate or whatever, find a pencil and paper, and prepare for 
a few hours of internet surfing and octave learning.  You need
at 2-3 hours without interuption.

Here is the biggest clue:  octave is almost the same as 
matlab.  It's not exactly the same, but its probably close
enough.  So search the web for matlab tutorials.  There are 
very many.

Then start octave.

Pretend octave is matlab.

Take notes with your pencil and paper.
