Viewing raw images in octave

Subject: Viewing raw images in octave

I was trying to read a raw image file in octave i used
the following commands


now in the next step if..

1. I type in imshow(k) i get a kind of a mask but
nowhere near to the actual image.

2. If i say image(k,1) i again get a kind of a
perceptual mask but no image.

3. If i say imagesc(k,1) i get the image perfectly,
but its not only laterally inverted, but also rotated
clockwise vertically by 90 degrees !

Can someone plzz suggest to me, how to view the image
correctly, the commands seem to be working perfectly
in matlab !
