gnuplot and octave

HELP

ive installed octave but have been unable to connect gnuplot to octave.
i have pipe-gnuplot in c:/octave/bin and gnuplot_binary="pipe-gnuplot
/octave/bin" does not work, and other commands like that.

also octave freezes up frequently what can i do about this
