Hello Roger,

Nano actually defaults to English.  If you (or your systems administrator or a system preference) has set your LANG or LC_ALL environment variables to something esle that would cause nano to load the alternate language support.  I would try running "echo $LANG" and "echo $LC_ALL" from the command line where you run nano to see what values are set there.  Your shell's man page should have more information about this.

Dear Nano,

When I asked my administrator about the whereabouts of the text editor he
told me about nano.

I went to the download page and clicked the latest version, but received
the message "page not found". So I went to the older versions and
downloaded nano-2.08.tar.gz. No problem on my LINUX machine, but
everything is in Spanish. French would be fine, but not Spanish. Is there
and English or French version available.

Roger
