I'm a bit fascinated how lot of applications let the user configure
the GUI by dragging and clicking the various elements with the mouse.
Examples are Photoshop, Gimp, SciTE, Chrome and many others. As far as
I know, no game has yet tried it.

In LW6, the tactical HUD elements would already have to be stretchable
to fit the game, so this part is not a problem.

Below is an example on how an adjustable tactial HUD could work. I
have tried making it as simple as possible, with the player only being
able to adjust the width of the HUD, and maximize/minimize different
elements. It will make it possible to have a lot of elements in the
tactical HUD, since they could just be minimized.

Some elements could also display some compressed information in the
minimized view: Time could just say 00:01:34, and Chat could just
display part of the last message.
