Use gsl_ran_chisq(r, 3.0) for variates describing the energy.

Hello, there is in gsl an utility function to obtain random numbers
distributed accordingly to the Maxwell - Boltzmann distribution?
Should i write it myself using gsl_rand_chi2() or gsl_rand_gamma()?

Thanks. Cheers
