Aha, so does that mean, that the bytes in the hidden sectors are
always a 100 % copy of /boot/grub/core.img ?

Not quite, grub2 will modify some fields inside it when it is written
to disk. But it should not change size of it.

Thanks!

So if I shrink the gap before 1st partition to a size, bigger than
core.img, I'm save not having damaged GRUB 2 installation?

Well ... are you absolutely sure it is exactly the same core.img that
was used during grub installation?

No, I'm absolutely unsure. That's why I'm asking here on the list. My question
in little other words:
How to dertermine, how many bytes of the gap between MBR and 1st partition are used by GRUB 2, so should not be deleted or shrinked or used otherwise
