This is the message that is returned when trying to install grub2
on a system that actually already is running grub2 on a Fedora 16
machine that was upgrade.
#grub2-install --recheck /dev/sda
/sbin/grub2-setup: warn: Your embedding area is unusually small.
core.img won't fit in it..
/sbin/grub2-setup: warn: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can
only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However,
blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged..
/sbin/grub2-setup: error: will not proceed with blocklists.
On some machines, where I moved the first partition from 63 to
2048 the process runs with no error. In looking at the hex code of
the process it seems to be the regular mbr, but then it is followed
by the core.img file after that?
