Yes.

Some time ago I was thinking about implementing this. However, the
proper fix would be to support it as both target and pattern-specific
plus there is no reason why vpath directive shouldn't work in those
cases:

foo.o: vpath %.c src
%.o: vpath %.c src

So it is a somewhat extensive fix.
