Please advise if the gcc, g77 compilers can handle byte
swapping efficiently? That is, I plan to port some of my C and fortran
programs from an UNIX machine to my PC running Redhad Linux. The main
purpose of the program is to read a binary file, which byte-swapping
issue will be very critical.
