I don't use dired-details+.el.  I rely on what comes with Emacs itself.

Add this hook

    (add-hook 'dired-mode-hook 'dired-hide-details-mode)

When details are hidden, the dired buffer no longer looks like a dired
buffer.  So I give it a special face, as below.

     '(buffer-face-mode-face (quote (:background "light gray"))))

    (add-hook 'dired-mode-hook 'buffer-face-mode)
