The first step in setting up gnus is using gnus to access the gnus newsgroup. It's sort of like a zen koan. (setq gnus-select-method '(nntp "news.gmane.org")) Start gnus. "^" to get into the server buffer. Move to the line reading {nntp:news.gmane.org} and hit RET. Wait. Search for gmane.emacs.gnus.user. Hit "U" on that line. Hit "q" twice. Hit "g". Enlightenment! E
