I recently started keeping various Emacs Lisp source files (including my
.emacs file) in a git repository. I symlink from their original
locations into the repo, set vc-follow-symlinks to t, and whenever I
edit those files, I end up editing the "real" file in the repository.
Very convenient.
I have another Elisp source file that contains code relevant only to my
job. My employer provides a Perforce repository, so I figured it made
the most sense to use that. However, when I edit the symlink that now
points to the repository file, Emacs doesn't follow the link.
Setting p4-follow-symlinks to t didn't help. Neither did adding
;; -*- find-file-visit-truename: t; -*-
to the top of the file. Is there any way to do what I want?
