no revision update in status bar after vc-next-action (check-in)?

Hi,

I am using Emacs 23.2.1 (current Aquamacs) and have observed the following 
effect with a file that is under subversion control: after changing the file, I 
use vc-next-action to do a check-in. However, this is not immediately reflected 
in the status bar which continues showing "SVN-<old revision>." Only after 
killing the buffer and re-loading the file, the new revision is displayed. Is 
this a bug or some problem with my setup? Many thanks in advance.
