Still having problems with SMTP and Gnus

From: Dan Anderson
Subject: Still having problems with SMTP and Gnus

User-agent: Gnus/5.09 (Gnus v5.9.0) Emacs/21.3.50

I'm trying to set up Gnus so that I can send mail through my
SMTP server. I can access the server fine through evolution, and I
just upgraded to the newest CVS version of emacs -- fresh as of last
night.

My .gnus looks like:

,----
| (setq user-mail-address "address@hidden")
| (setq user-full-name "Dan Anderson")
| (setq message-user-organization "Mathjunkies.com")
| (add-hook 'gnus-group-mode-hook 'gnus-topic-mode)
| (add-to-list 'gnus-secondary-select-methods
| '(nnml ""
| (nnml-directory "/home/daniel/nnml")
| (get-new-mail t)
| (directory-files nnheader-directory-files-safe)))
| (setq send-mail-function 'smtpmail-send-it)
| (setq message-send-mail-function 'smtpmail-send-it)
| (setq smtpmail-smtp-server "mail.server.com")
| (setq smtpmail-auth-credentials
| '(("server.com" 25 "username" "password")))
| (setq smtpmail-debug-info t)
| (setq smtpmail-debug-verb t)
`----

And the trace of my SMTP session looks like:

,----
| 220 servername.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.11.6/8.11.6; Wed, 26 Nov 2003 20:42:08
-0600
| EHLO syr-24-59-76-83.twcny.rr.com
| 250-servername.com Hello my hostname [my ip], pleased to meet you
| 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES
| 250-8BITMIME
| 250-SIZE
| 250-DSN
| 250-ONEX
| 250-ETRN
| 250-XUSR
| 250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN
| 250 HELP

| RCPT TO:<address@hidden>
| 550 5.7.1 <address@hidden>... Relaying denied

`----

What am I doing wrong? I really want to use Gnus for SMTP mail.

Thanks in advance,

Dan
