Greetings,
the attached model
file performs as expected with GLPK 4.0,
however, with 4.1 it
generates a numerical instability, and apparently
fails in the integer
optimization. The platform is RedHat with gcc
(see attached diff
file.)
I hope to employ
GLPK to solve large problems concerning water
resource allocation
and delivery in South Florida. The GLPK API
is ideal for this,
as the API allows us to incorporate state-information
updates to the model
parameters from our hydrological numerical
model. However, the
difference in performance between 4.0 and 4.1
on the simple model
raises concern that GLPK may not be robust
enough for the task.
Thanks for your
time, and the excellent work in providing/maintaining
the
GLPK.
