On Sunday, December 28, "Bijan Soleymani"
<address@hidden> offered a new bit of dissent regarding
restricting posting to subscribers:
>It would prevent people from posting messages to this

>(which would kind of defeat the purpose of gmane).
"The" purpose? As I read the FAQ there, it is not at
all unusual that a given list be set up as read-only
for non list members.
(For me personally, the most significant "purpose" of
GMANE is that material posted to certain mailing lists
is now showing up in searches at Google.)

But it is possible! Visit this page:
http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/options/help-emacs-windows
and log in with the email address and password you are
using for the list. There are great many options
there for customizing your subscription - the very
first of which allows you to disable email delivery.

Rejoice!
