Been pokin' around for ideas, but haven't been able to solve this problem.

*Messages* buffer shows following:
  Loading browse-url...done
  Loading thingatpt...done

I am then prompted for a URL, which I give, and the *Messages* continue:

  Loading term...done
apply: Spawning child process: invalid argument

I am sorry, but I do not know how to turn on a debugger to get more specific messages - much less do the actual debugging.

Also, FWIW, I'm running cygwin's bash shell. I tried changing the Registry entries HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GNU\Emacs\SHELL and \TERM to "bash," but to no avail.

I have also noticed that term.el includes three ref's to "/bin/sh". Is this my problem? And if so, what's the best approach to solving it?...

Thanks a lot!
Matthew

PS - I have *also* noticed that http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/windows/ntemacs.html says "The latest version of Emacs is 21.2." How is it then that I seem to be running "GNU Emacs 21.3.1 (i386-msvc-nt5.1.2600) of 200303-27 on buffy," the vampire slayer? Just curious....
