Dear all,
I'm trying to read the temperature of my SSD drives. However, it seems my Samsung SSD 870 EVO is not included on the drive database.
I'm using hddtemp 0.3_beta15-r29 on Gentoo PPC64.
# hddtemp /dev/sda
/dev/sda: Samsung SSD 870 EVO 500G B ?@: no sensor
It does work fine on my other SSD unit:
# hddtemp /dev/sdb
/dev/sdb: Patriot P210 256GB: 29°C
(This reading comes from field 194)
Looking for what it's in there it seems older versions of this SSD do appear on the list, using field 190. So, I have added to the list an entry for the 870, like this:
"Samsung SSD 870 EVO" 190 C "Samsung SSD 870 EVO"
And it shows the temperature now.
# hddtemp /dev/sda
/dev/sda: Samsung SSD 870 EVO 500G B ?@: 31°C
Not sure why the garbage text is appearing. Any ideas on that?
hdparm identifies the drive just fine.
/dev/sda:
Model=Samsung SSD 870 EVO 500GB
Thanks!
