Subject: | [Halevt-dev] remounting a CD/DVD after writing without ejecting |
Date: | Thu, 6 May 2010 11:11:29 -0700 |
We are developing a custom turnkey system which uses halevt for removable media support. When the users insert a blank CD/DVD to write audit logs to, we need to verify the files which were burned. There is a security requirement to verify the integrity of the burned audit logs. So after burning the files we need the disk to be remounted so that we can read the files back to verify integrity. Currently, we are ejecting and reinserting (eject –t) the disk. This causes it to be mounted in the host filesystem and then we can read and verify the integrity of the files. This can cause confusion for the user, since she sees the disk get ejected and then sucked back in and then finally ejected again.
Is there a way we can remount the newly burned disk without ejecting and reinserting it? The system is based upon Redhat 5.1 and using halevt 0.1.4
Thanks,
Tony
