Hello, reader! ;-)
The `guile-reader' project is all about trying to make Guile users'
lives easier by (1) providing an extensible reader framework (2) while
not compromising (not too much?) on performance.
Personally, I see (1) as critical given the number of syntax variants
that *already* exist, and considering the fact that this is going to get
worse (R6RS will come with its own syntactic idiosyncrasies for sure,
like square brackets to start with). Of course, (2) matters as well
since Guile is an interpreter.
If you think these goals are reasonable and would like to discuss about
ways to achieve them, then this is the list you should already be
subscribed to!
You can currently follow developments in the following GNU Arch branch:
address@hidden/guile-reader--devo--0.2
location: http://www.laas.fr/~lcourtes/software/address@hidden/
For the record, the first announcement can be read there:

Ludovic.
