Peter and Piotr,
You've both offered good, specific suggestions for improving the refer
man page. I encourage you to add these to the groff bug tracker
(http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?group=groff). Anyone can enter a bug
report, even without creating a savannah account, and filing a bug
makes it more likely that the improvements will one day be implemented
rather than scrolling away in the history of the email list and being
forgotten. The man pages in particular are getting active attention
right now, so it's a good time to open bugs about them.
