Aha. This means that AIX nroff isn't able to discard the
unstretchable space, thus distorting the output even more. groff's
behaviour is better. And no, I won't try to emulate UNIX troff to
make groff's output worse :-)
Nevertheless, thanks for pointing this out. It will eventually go
into the manual.
